✅After making her global debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March, the brand new FD77, the latest model in Horizon’s acclaimed Fast Displacement Series, put her High Performance Piercing Bow design to the test for a video shoot in the waters off the Florida coast.
The new FD77 made an impressive appearance at the Palm Beach International Boat Show at the end of March, eliciting praise from all who stepped aboard. Noticed from the dock for her wide beam and spacious beach club, the FD77 further awed visitors as they toured her voluminous main salon with its large windows and fully opening aft doors and stepped forward into the full-beam, on-deck master stateroom. From the open flybridge with its fixed windscreen to the foredeck lounging area and spacious aft deck, the amount of space and amenities available on this 77ft yacht made it one of the show’s most talked-about vessels.
It was after the show, however, that the FD77 had the opportunity to show off her performance capabilities. Enhanced by Horizon’s proprietary High Performance Piercing Bow and hull design, the FD77’s design under the waterline is perhaps even more remarkable than her interior volume and amenities. On a bright morning in May, the FD77 eased off the Horizon dock at Old Port Cove and cruised through the Intercoastal Waterway into the Atlantic Ocean, where she opened up to cut smoothly through the chop at 18 knots as a film crew captured the experience.
